FInal Project

This is a draft of my final project. I plan on pursuing it further when I submit it on my portfolio for this class. But here it is right now.

Another day another draft.

So here is what I have been working on with my final project but I got some really helpful feedback from Stephanie and Megan today. I am going to rethink the narration, maybe put in present tense and try to give it more energy. I have a lot of work to do before next week so don't be surprised if my final draft sounds vastly different than this one.

Some subtle changes. The ending is different. I extended his viola playing so the ending isn't as abrupt and I edited out the bit about him going to the dentist because it wasn't necessary.

Here is my start on the final project. I interviewed my mom and dad over the phone about their relationship and this event specifically. I have a lot of work to do though to get from here to what I what my piece to turn out like when it is finished. Let me know what you think.

So I changed directions completely. This is of a man Jurek that I know who plays viola. I was very curious about his relationship to his instrument. This is the result of my investigation.

Okay guys, this by far is the most unsure I have been about any of these projects. So I have like an hour and a half of interview with this man, who is actually my boss of probably about five months now. He owns Great Plains Burger and he is honestly one of the best people I know. He explained about how serving burgers was, in his eyes, a form of patriotism and being a "proud American Palestinian." I just have so much tape that I am having a hard time getting through it. I want to go back and record him at work which should produce some interesting sounds, textures and experiences. I would take those recordings and replace the music with them. I have also scheduled time with this man from Poland who plays the viola as a plan b.

Here is the newest version of my Sonic Haiku. I changed the writing and I hope that my intention with this piece got through. Unfortunately I was not able to re-record the waves. I am going home in a couple of weeks so I plan on making some more changes even after this. Hopefully it will not be as windy which brought about some technical difficulties last time over spring break. Anyway, I hope that you enjoy my piece and feel free to leave comments.

This is my list project. It runs long. Let me know what you think I should get rid of. Also, I don't know if you can tell but I wanted my list to come off as a sort of story. I don't know if you will see/hear that in this. And also is the type of list clear at the end of the piece?

On the Road. The Final Draft. Or The Closest I've Gotten.

So I've been over and over this. I put sounds and effects in to add to the narrative and then I take them out because I don't like them or how I'm using them. And I take parts of the story out and then put them back in. I think I have spent too much time on this over the last two days and what with being sick which you might be able to tell by the sound of my voice (froggy croak) at this point in time my head is just full of fuzz. Okay team, I need some advice. I still can't decide what avenue I want to pursue for the On the Road assignment. Which of these stories is more interesting as a story? Or what could be done to enhance either one of them? Any suggestions you guys have I would love to hear. This story is about my twin sister and I and an encounter with the police.
